The Week 1 Kick-off Quiz intends to encourage students to read the course guide and clearly understand the expectations and assessment. The quiz will enable students to locate course information and help reduce student stress and emails to the lecturer.

The Story Games activity involves the teacher developing a scaffolded scenario related to the theory content, and each week adding to the scenario based on the theory content that has been learnt during that week. Each week students work on scenario solutions and need to critically reflect their own practice as the scenario builds and shifts in direction.

The Picture Perfect icebreaker involves students communicating non-verbally through words (sentences) and pictures in an effort to effectively communicate information to a number of people.

The Guided Role Play involves a short issue/problem based scenario being role played by the teacher and students. The teacher develops the role play and plays the main character of the scenario and controls how the scenario unfolds, based upon student responses. Answering Case Studies Creatively requires students to respond to a brief case study by developing a comic strip, created via a paper based template or free online software.
