Installation - Flashings

Brick veneer clad buildings must also be adequately flashed so that any water absorbed by the brickwork is directed out and away from the wall.

Diagram showing the base of a veneer wall on a raft slab. A membrane is wrapped under the flashing in the slab. Below the slab is compacted fill. Flashing/DPC is placed a minimum of 20 mm above the slab to a height of 150 mm min. Weep holes are shown at 1200 centres max.
