Site induction
Site induction is the process by which workers become familiar with specific hazards and risks on a particular building site. When a building project is different from a standard residential project, eg is an industrial or commercial project, then a job specific induction will need to be carried out for all personnel to be employed on this site.
This induction will cover the basic areas plus other additional matters which are of prime importance on a larger construction project:
- A company representative must induct every person who is to work on the site.
- If a sub-contractor who has several staff is employed , you must induct the contactor.
- A written record must be kept on-site and signed off by the contractor and every employee on-site.
