Task duration
An important consideration in the planning process is the duration of each task.
You can estimate the duration of a task based on your own construction experience and/or through consultation with the tradespeople and other employees who will be carrying out the task.
In this activity we will look at some examples of how you can estimate durations by consulting with tradespeople.
Listen to each tradesperson. Use the information they give you to enter a duration estimate for each task.
Once we know these durations we can put them into the PERT chart to help calculate the time for part of the construction process or the entire timeframe for the project.
