The student cohort in the common core course, Business Computing 1, is very large (approx. 1000), with a wide variance of prior experience.

Professional Scientist is currently delivered in a face-to-face format to local students.

The course needed to be modified so that it can be made available in a fully online version for OUA using video resources, online collaboration tools and with educational technology.

Programming is taught as of first year in Computer Science and cognate disciplines and is known to be challenging (to first year students). In CSIT the key first year programming course is Programming 1.

Typically, and this is a worldwide phenomenon, first year programming courses experience high failure and attrition rates.

This project involved three courses taught in the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Chinese Medicine) as well as the Masters of Acupuncture.

Weekly Blackboard Collaborate sessions provide the opportunity to offer learning experiences online and to record learning electronically. While learning in the Collaborate online classroom, often, group work forms a part of the learning experience. While in groups, students go into breakout rooms to further discuss the topics of the day.
