The aim of this pattern is to ensure students understand the application and use of underpinning knowledge gained in the first three weeks of the course”Analyse Data and Report Results” and how to apply this knowledge in real life situations.
Rationale To understand and apply Basic Descriptive Statistics, using the right statistics for a given data and apply the statistics in real life examples to analyse data and report results.
Learners/Context This activity will be individual based and the output will be collated and presented on Blackboard for peer learning.
Alignment This activity will enhance the underpinning knowledge learnt during the classes and how to apply the knowledge in real life situations.
Instructions/Processes To apply the knowledge gained during first three weeks of the course which include:
Basic Descriptive Statistics
Correlation - Relationship between data
This activity will be highlighted in the Course Schedule(weekly breakup) and will be explained in the class in week 3 and the Activity will be posted on Blackboard as well. Each student will be asked to collect and analyse data as instructed in the Activity Sheet(provided to students) that they have to complete within the given time frame. This activity will also form part of formal assessment and will comprise a proportion of the Final Mark.. Students missing classes which can be overcome by providing learning and related material on blackboard
