Flipped Classroom for Delivery of Programming

Programming is taught as of first year in Computer Science and cognate disciplines and is known to be challenging (to first year students). In CSIT the key first year programming course is Programming 1.

Typically, and this is a worldwide phenomenon, first year programming courses experience high failure and attrition rates.

The union of Blackboard Collaborate and Google Drive for online group learning

Weekly Blackboard Collaborate sessions provide the opportunity to offer learning experiences online and to record learning electronically. While learning in the Collaborate online classroom, often, group work forms a part of the learning experience. While in groups, students go into breakout rooms to further discuss the topics of the day.
