Lecturer Audio Explanation March 2016
Lecturer Audio Explanation provides students with the opportunity to recall and reflect on underlying course concepts. This activity enables staff to exhibit good practice (refer to Resources/Technology) to support student learning. Additionally, valuable apps: ShowMe, VideoScribe, Narrable, Moovlycan or Powtoon (refer to Technology/Resources) are available for mobile devices, such as ipads or iphones, to explain underlying or difficult concepts.
Rationale Lecturer Audio Explanation gives staff the opportunity to provide students with explanations and feedback on underlying concepts in programs, courses or lectures.
Learners/Context Students appreciate the opportunity to replay recordings to internalise main program, course or lecture concepts. The recordings can also be added to a forum as a stimulus for group discussion. Recordings can be uploaded into Blackboard and can be added to Bb Mobile Learn as Content or Tasks. Also, students can be provided with audio feedback with services, such as RecordMP3Online (refer to Resources/Technology), especially for formative assignments.
Alignment The Lecturer Audio Explanation provides students with flexible, personalised and inclusive learning to reflect on the main course concept.
