Installation - Preparation

Note: Plywood cladding should be kept dry and clean before installation.

Flashing material should be fixed to the frame before plywood cladding is fixed. This must be done in accordance with best industry practice. Some manufacturers produce special pre-formed metal flashings.

Diagrams showing horizontal joints for plywood cladding. In the first diagram edges are rebated to give a minimum 40 mm lap, with a 3 mm expansion gap below. In the second diagram, the joint is flashed with a 'Z' shaped flashing and the joint is covered with a cover mould.
