Introduction

Concrete slabs are floor systems of concrete and steel reinforcing. They are constructed on the ground. Various types of slabs are available.

Slab on ground

Stiffened raft slab

Diagram of a concrete floor on the ground. There are three integral edge beams supporting the concrete floor - two at either end and one in the middle. Concrete floor supported on the ground with a separately poured edge strip footing.

Footing slab

Waffle raft slab

Infill slab
