Other permits

A project requires numerous permits from the municipal council to allow various aspects of the work to be completed. Two examples of permits required are:

  • asset protection - this includes payment of a bond to cover repair to council assets and is approved prior to beginning construction
  • road opening - required prior to installing crossovers Crossovers are pieces of timber placed on sand on the footpath so that trucks do not damage the footpath.

Copies of the permits are kept in on-site files so that any queries from the council, public or other bodies can be dealt with quickly. Without copies on-site a council inspector can issue a stop work notice until they can confirm that a permit has been issued.
