This<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">was a\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">huge undertaking<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0for teachers and program managers to merge synchronous\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(e.g.,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0real-time<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">online\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">lectures)\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and asynchronous<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(e.g., activities students\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">could\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">complete on their own time<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0learning and teaching methods in a very short amount of time<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As part of this rapid transition, t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">he\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">VE<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0design team<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0worked\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in coordination with<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Studio<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">other departments<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0to support teachers by providing\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">m with<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">information they needed to get their content<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and assessments<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0up on Canvas<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. This included<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">helping teachers to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">set<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">up\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0host<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">online<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">lectures\/tutorials<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">uploading a variety of\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">learning\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">aterial<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0devise<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">work-around solutions for previously\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">taught\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">face-to-face\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">learning activities<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, demos,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and labs.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rmit.edu.au\/staff\/teaching-supporting-students\/ve-essentials\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">VE Essentials<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rmit.edu.au\/staff\/teaching-supporting-students\/ve-essentials\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Flexible Delivery<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">web<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">site<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s were created<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">as\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">starting\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">reference point<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0for\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">teachers looking for<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0teaching, tech, and tool reso<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">urces<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Additionally, t<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">raining and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">PD sessions<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0were<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">offered<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">teachers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">were<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">encouraged<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ask<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">questions<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and<\/span><span href=\"https:\/\/emedia.rmit.edu.au\/oedvedesign\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/QC-Framework.pdf\">QC Framework<\/a><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">review of all VE Semester 1 courses was conducted at the end of April<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Courses were evaluated across seven dimensions:<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">uidelines for\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">emester 2\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">C<\/span><span the closure of RMIT campuses due to Covid-19\u00a0restrictions\u00a0in March, there was a massive push to\u00a0quickly\u00a0move\u00a0courses online\u00a0for remote delivery to students\u00a0situated\u00a0overseas, interstate, and locally. This\u00a0was a\u00a0huge undertaking\u00a0for teachers and program managers to merge synchronous\u00a0(e.g.,\u00a0real-time\u00a0online\u00a0lectures)\u00a0and asynchronous\u00a0(e.g., activities students\u00a0could\u00a0complete on their own time)\u00a0learning and teaching methods in a very short amount of time.\u00a0 As part of this rapid transition, the\u00a0VE\u00a0design team\u00a0worked\u00a0in coordination with\u00a0Studios\u00a0and\u00a0other departments\u00a0to support teachers by providing\u00a0them with\u00a0the\u00a0information they needed to get their content\u00a0and assessments\u00a0up on Canvas.
