Contract cheating

What is contract cheating?

Contract cheating occurs when a student buys an assignment or has someone else write an assignment or sit an exam for them. This is cheating and is never acceptable. There are many websites that offer assignment writing services, using clever marketing to target students. These services are unethical and put students and the reputation of the university at risk.

What are the consequences of contract cheating?

Providers of contract cheating services or essay mills can gather information about students and then use this information for exploitation and blackmail. Students who are caught contract cheating face severe academic consequences including failing a paper or course, suspension or even expulsion.

Having a charge of academic misconduct on your academic record is very serious and can impact your employability. A charge of fraud could have a severe impact on your career.
