In-text referencing when paraphrasing from a newspaper article with an author from a database.

There are two options for in-text referencing:

1. Adding a citation at the end of a sentence.
2. Using the author's name as part of your sentence.

Essential information to include:

• The family name of the author.
• No initials are required.
• The year of publication.

(b) The Qantas charter does not currently allow for past or current CEOs to take on the position of chairman of the Qantas Board (Hall 2007).

Note:

• Do not add page numbers or quotation marks when paraphrasing.
• The full stop is placed after the bracket when the citation is at the end of the sentence (See - Example b).
• The name of the newspaper is not included in-text, but is included in the reference list.
• The name of the database is not included in-text, but is included in the reference list.
